QV Container Deposit Scheme Victoria

As part of the Container Deposit Scheme Victoria, you can now recycle eligible drink containers at QV Melbourne with all 10 cent refund proceeds to be donated to the Black Dog Institute.

How to donate?

Simply scan the 10-cent barcode on an eligible drink container at any one of the nine QV container deposit bins in the QV Food Hall and deposit the container in the bin. The 10-cent refund for each eligible container deposited will be donated to the Black Dog Institute: an Australian medical research institution investigating mental health across the lifespan.

QV Container Deposit Scheme Victoria

Container Deposit Scheme Victoria (CDS Vic) is part of the Victorian Government's $515 million investment to transform the state's waste and recycling sector. Funded by contributions from the beverage industry, the scheme will contribute to Victoria's target of diverting 80% of all material away from landfill by 2030 and represents a significant milestone in our journey towards a circular economy.

Victorian use more than 3 million drink containers every year. Sadly, many are not recycled, ending up in landfill and as litter in local communities across our state.

● Increase recycling and reduce litter, cleaning up our environment.

● Be convenient and accessible with many types and locations of refund points across Victoria

● Bring new jobs and economic opportunities for individuals, charity and community groups.
